According to § 19 PP. 2 in conjunction with § 21 StVZO, an assessment by an officially recognized expert or technical service (e.g. DEKRA, GTÜ etc.) and subsequent issuance of an operating permit (individual operating permit) by the responsible road traffic authority is required ( individual inspection ). Failure to comply will result in the vehicle's operating permit becoming invalid!
